Jennifer M. Stevens life in the Arts led to singing and performing her original music at the Heard Museum, Phoenix, AZ, Crazy Horse Monument, Custer, SD, Weidner Center, Green Bay, WI, McPhail Performing Arts Center, Minneapolis, MN, Indian Summer Festival, Milwaukee, WI, Milwaukee Museum of Art, Milwaukee, WI, and Goodman Theatre, Chicago, IL.  Stevens is classified as a Lirico Spinto Soprano with a 3 Octave range.  Jennifer M. Stevens was also a guest composer for the prestigious La Biennial del Venezia, Venice, Italy's International Contemporary Music Festival under the direction of renown Native American Composer, Brent Michael Davids and with fellow Indigenous composers such as; Louis Ballard, Russell Wallace, and Dawn Avery.  Jennifer M. Stevens is a self-taught Classical Contemporary Composer and Lyrist, due to training and both Piano and Classical Voice as a Soprano, she developed her skills in writing mostly for Voice and Piano Classical Contemporary, Classical Contemporary Native American, and Post-Romantic Melodic music since she was 12 years old and went professional in 2009.

Jennifer M. Stevens has a Bachelor of Arts Degree from St. Norbert College,  and studied Classical and Opera Singing in college, St. Norbert College, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Kansas School of Music and Dance, and studied privately with Joanne Bozeman-Soprano, Lawrence University-Appleton, WI, Inci Bashar-Mezzo Soprano, Chicago, IL and Minneapolis, MN, Margaret Drumond (Robbins), Appleton, WI, Metropolitan Opera Singer, Sondra Kelly, Dramatic Mezzo Soprano, Green Bay, and Appleton, WI, Jana Ernst, Vocal Coach Accompanist, Milwaukee, WI,  and participated in Vocal Master Classes with renown Italian Opera Singers, Fiorenza Cedolins, Soprano, Lugano, Switzerland and Francesca Patanè, Dramatic Soprano, in Dumenza, Italy.  Stevens also participated in the Master Class, OCAVA, Rome, Italy with renown Opera Singers, Milena Kitic and Ines Salazar, Soprano.

Jennifer M. Stevens has been a featured Classical Singer, Classical Contemporary Composer, and Artist in, Encyclopedia Native American Music of North America by Timothy ArchambaultElaine KeillorJohn M. H. Kelly, the prestigious Milwaukee Magazine, and she worked with producers, Fred Wessel and Eileen Littig, for two documentaries on PBS/WPT, Wisconsin Life-Jennifer M. Stevens, and Owe.la’: The Music Within Jennifer Stevens.

Jennifer M. Stevens has weaved a creative life in the Arts nationally and internationally.  She is an Opera Singer, Classical Contemporary Composer, Contemporary Native American Artist, and Prehistoric Indigenous Potter and Educator.  Jennifer M. Stevens, is Oneida and Lakota, and known by her Oneida name, WaË€kohsi•yó  (Wah-goh-see-yoh) that means Peacock, “A Bird With A Beautiful Long Tail."  The symbolism of her name, inspires her life in the Arts and small business name, WaË€kohsi•yó ARTS.  Jennifer M. Stevens is far from ordinary, she is an innovator in the Arts; she continues to break barriers, and making presence as an Indigenous Woman in the Visual and Performing Arts world as a professional Artist, Singer, Composer, and Educator.
